The Cover Games

I fail at life sometimes and I apologize. It’s been awhile. Like a really, really,  REALLY long time since I did this. I didn’t even know it was possible to not do something for a long time. And, as my mom likes to say, I’m the queen of procrastination. But I’m so happy to be doing this again. As you can see from the tittle, I am once again doing The Cover Games. Now, some of you might be wondering what the living duck (yes, duck) is The Cover Games?

The Cover Games is this:

Every Saturday I’m going to try to post a book cover that I love. The book can be out already or it can be unreleased. To choose the book cover is a difficult task. They end up fighting, loosing their plot or words. It’s brutal. That is why I decided to name it The Cover Games.

Now, this book defeated all books this week. Hell, it has defeated all books until further notice. But once you see it you’ll understand why.

I can’t help it. I have an absolute love for every single Brenna Yovanoff cover. It was the cover for The Replacement that had me drawn to it. There’s always something so freaky yet beautiful about them. They always cause me to do a lot of this: tumblr_m6eys6MC6p1rziwwco1_500

And maybe sometimes this:

Brenna Yovanoff’s writing is also outstanding and will always have me leaving a light on when I go to sleep. What are some of your favorite covers? Let me know in the comments!

THE COVER GAMES!

***********

I like making things more dramatic than they need to be. It’s a problem. But I’m proud to announce the winner, a very sassy and kick-ass winner: penryn-end-of-days-series

Yes Dean, they are awesome.

So Angelfall pulled a Katniss and Peeta. Both are truly amazing covers. The wings are huge to the plot of the series too. If you read Angelfall you know what I mean. I love these books to no end. I’m serious. I will take these with my to college and force everyone to read them. Penryn has become one of my favorite characters. I may have even named my Child Development baby after her… OKAY! So yes, yes I did name my flower baby after Penryn. Sue me. I would name my first kid after her, but I think my mom would kill me. Susan Ee is an amazing writer. She is amazing at description. It really seems like I’m watching a movie when I read these books.

Please, if you haven’t read  Angelfall, go buy it. Add it to your Goodreads. These books are  full of action, plot twists, a sassy main protagonist, and more. It is an ongoing series so expect more books. I know I’m excited for that. I’ll leave you with this little gem of a quote:

“It’s amazing how many times we need to go against our survival instincts to survive.”

Until next time!

The Cover Games #2

This is the second Cover Games! As I said last week, every Saturday I’m going to try to post a book cover that I love. The book can be out or it can be unreleased. To choose the book cover is a difficult task. They end up fighting, loosing their plot or words. It’s brutal. That is why I decided to name it The Cover Games.

_______

I couldn’t choose this week. All the book covers were seemed to scream,”PICK ME! PICK ME!” It was scary… just as scary as me giving them human qualities. I finally did choose a cover after a long and brutal battle and I’m happy with it. Drum roll please!

……………….

SWEETLY BY JACKSON PEARCE!

If you’ve never read Sweetly, then I don’t know what you’re waiting for. I love Jackson Pearce’s books and her covers are just beautiful. I love the ones that have this abstract look to them. I wish they never changed.

It was difficult this time. But I have a lot of books and putting all of them on here wouldn’t have worked.

Today I’m wondering what book cover do you not like? One that is… hard on the eyes. Because sometimes a good book is blessed with a scary cover.

The Cover Games #1

Hello readers! Today I decided to start something new. Every Saturday I am going to try to post a book cover that I love. The book can be out or it can be unreleased. To choose the book cover is a difficult task. They end up fighting, loosing there plot or words. It’s brutal. That is why I decided to name it The Cover Games. Get it? Because you know like The Hunger Games… but with books…

Moving on then.

It was a very difficult battle today. The Hex Hall series was very close to winning. Poor Archer. But an amazing book won today. I blame the fact that it had a killer in it…

PAPER VALENTINE!!

It was a close call. But this cover… It’s one of my favorites. Brenna Yovanoff has the best covers for all her books. Seriously. The covers also represent each of her books perfectly. For some reason though this is my favorite. The girl looks like a child (which is important) and the heart right in the middle plays a key role in the whole book. If you haven’t read Paper Valentine, or any of Brenna Yovanoff’s books for that matter, I recommend that you do.

Good. Now to bandage up all the other books…

What book cover do you love? Tell me below!
